Gotta say, 2023 was a great year for playing out. By my count, I did 62 shows last year between Limerock, Electric Mayhem, the duo with Daisy, and fill-in gigs, another busy year, with only a few cancellations. Plus, I got to see some amazing concerts this year, including Branford Marsalis (my favorite saxophone player), The Winery Dogs, Voivod/Imperial Triumphant, The Cult, Dream Theater, Devin Townsend, Animals As Leaders, Yngwie Malmsteen, Glenn Hughes, and the most amazing weekend: road tripping to NYC to see KISS' final show at Madison Square Garden! I'll be putting a Woodshed entry together for that weekend this week, I want to get the main update out first!
Like I said, I did 62 shows in 2023, and already have 41 shows booked between the groups for 2024, and I still have a lot of room on the calendar! Time management is going to be my friend this year, as well as an updated calendar! I have a lot I want to accomplish this year, and I'm excited to get to it! First, here's all the updates on the groups and projects I've got going...
LIMEROCK:
We just played a SLAMMING show at Cafe 27 yesterday to cap off a fantastic year of shows. The current lineup has really jelled into a solid unit, and the live show has really gotten tight, to the point where we're starting to take chances with throwing songs in the show that we've never done before. With that being said, we're already planning on revamping and improving the show we're doing, so that we don't become too predictable. The idea of original music from the band is also picking up steam, let's see what happens there...
ELECTRIC MAYHEM:
After bringing our new drummer Alan into the mix, EM is also starting to get really tight as a unit. I'm super lucky to be in 2 bands that seem to be unable to have a bad gig, except for the tablet of mine that died after falling into the lagoon at Hog Heaven! We have a fairly slow-fish start to the year, but we're going to be using the down time to finally bring new songs (covers and likely originals) into the mix. Cant wait to see what our new show is going to look and sound like...
TIM AND DAISY "MAYHEM DUO:"
Daisy and I havre managed to land a monthly gig at Whale Harbor down in Islmorada. We'll be playing there once a month every month this year. And like with the other 2 bands, we're already starting to get new songs into the show for these gigs. As some of you may know, when we do these shows, I tend to play several of my solo songs, so if you like my solo music, make sure to come down and catch a Mayhem Duo show, I may play your favorite Tim song!
SOLO ALBUMS/RECORDING PROJECTS:
As most of you probably know, I finally got ALL of my solo albums up onto the digital streaming platforms this summer, as well as my most recent album "The Impossibility Of Silence." Thank you to all who have had a chance to listen and stream the songs! This week I start the work on a follow up album! I have a title (not telling...yet), and about 13-14 pretty solid song ideas floating around. My goal is to start fleshing out these ideas out this week, as well as continuing to write for this upcoming album, as well as getting ideas for Limerock, Mayhem, plus writing for my recording projects with the Incognito guys and my friends Karl and Pat. Gonna be interesting juggling different ideas for different projects, but I'm liking the challenge that this will be. I also have a couple "classical" projects that I'm going to start working on heavy duty on this spring as well. There has been talk of renewing my collaborations with Deb Desilets as well, super looking forward to that hopefully happening! So as you can see, I'm planning on making 2024 a very busy and productive year. Hopefully everything gets going!
Gonna wrap it up here for now. Limerock kicks off my 2024 gig schedule this weekend with a pair of shows at Redland Golf and Country Club on Saturday, and Glades Club on Sunday, hope to see some of you there, and let's make this a FANTASTIC year of music and shows!!
THAT IS ALL...TB
